Nice work! I recently moved my silly little coffee blog over to paid. Using a 'member' approach rather than a paywall sort of thing. It's scary taking that step but I have been surprised at how many people are willing to support writers. I blew past my (very modest) goal pretty quickly, and that feeling is amazing. Go smash it!
Oh yeah I love the idea of a membership approach, that's very smart! I don't want to paywall things either, but hopefully I can start offering little bonuses for those who do upgrade. I did, however, forget to set any goals so every subscriber is a bonus!
Hey there. Been enjoying these as they go hand in hand with my day job-sourcing coffees with producers throughout Guatemala. I’ve been in coffee for 15 years, mostly roasting for that time. Happy to connect further. It is an interesting time in this industry right now. I certainly have thoughts about it but am always encouraged by new ideas. Happy New Year!
Happy new year Pete! Thanks for reading the Pourover. I also roast as part of my day job, and it is really interesting to see the industry change from both a critical place as a writer as well as in the weeds roasting the product.
We all need a support group chat-ha! I’m glad to find other coffee pros on here too. I don’t write about coffee-I should, but right now I think there’s too much frustration that would jumble up the words. Keep going!
I’ll subscribe. Your writing is great! You can call me subjective😉but I see first hand this labour of love of yours.
Aw thanks Ma! 🥰😅
