Coffee News Roundup: Week Ending October 20th
We're losing insect pollinators at an alarming rate, and that's bad for coffee.
This week, in coffee news:
A new study shows that climate change and loss of habitat are massively impacting pollinating insects in the tropics, which is bad news for coffee.
Nespresso and Peet’s have agreed to end a trademark dispute over their coffee pods. (Incidentally, Nespresso has been involved in a lot of lawsuits around its pods over the years.)
Starbucks is taking its union to court over a social media post in support of Palestine, while the union countersued for defamation.
And workers at three separate US specialty coffee companies announced their intent to unionize in the same week.
